This goldfinch was suddenly perched on the branch opposite, as we were enjoying a cup of coffee, shortly after arriving at Harlow Carr. Fortunately the long lens was already on the camera and set up ready.

Just time for three handheld shots, before this colourful poser moved on. 

Time to finish the coffee.
