Female Nuthatch (Sitta europaea )

Weatherwise not a bad day ....................  for late November/early December.  Cold, showery and dull.  When it rained it really rained.  I looked out of the window and the sun was shining "Ah I will pop out into the garden".  Before I finished my wander round I was sheltering in the greenhouse.  You will not be surprised to know the blip is taken through the window.

The Nuthatch is an occasional visitor to the feeders, once every few weeks.   Their territory must be fairly small as a pair nest around 200 m away as the Nuthatch flies.  Despite the name when visiting they are more interested in seed on the bird table or in the feeders than the peanut feeder.
