Before the Off!

I blipped very early today because the sky was blue when we arrived just before half past eight at Middleton Park, and soon the competitors would be arriving for the orienteering event and it would be full on in the carpark where Tony and I were volunteering.

I didn't run today, although I had entered and had a start time, partly because after three or so hours managing traffic I got past it, I also was wet from the heavy showers which came through but mainly I was enjoying renewing acquaintances, at a distance of course!  There was much catching up with folks we haven't seen throughout lockdown.  The event was carefully staged with online booking and just two runners starting on each minute, socially distanced.

Tony returned, somewhat soggily, from his run and we had a good chat with friend N who is recovering from a stroke brought on by Covid early in the pandemic.  We have seen him a couple of times at events but he was looking particularly well today.  Then it was time for home.
