because . . . no excuses!  What I saw today is indelibly recorded in my memory. I am the camera; but not quite in the way Christopher Isherwood was a camera.

What my memory recorded today: Yellow roses of Texas are blooming, as are some wild irises going over quickly; I didn't see any javelina but I did have my first encounter with a rattle snake on the trail (but of course I have only my memory to recall the incident); elk are about,
