Rust And Peeling Paint

I spotted this rusty chain and padlock a few weeks ago at the entrance to an old landfill site near Clifford - and I mentally filed it away for a blip someday…well today I walked up there to photograph it - 4.5 mile round trip in total. Plenty of textured rust, lichen and peeling paint, and a bit of barbed wire thrown in as well!

There was a light cloud cover so there was no harsh sunlight on the lock and chain which made processing it a lot easier. I did consider it for Derelict Sunday, but that would do it a disservice as it is clearly still doing a job!

Mrs madwill has invited the children and grandchildren for a barbecue on Sunday - so I better go and cut the weed patch lawn and start weeding the paths! Need to check if Slimy is still resident as the girls will be looking for it! We will probably need new batteries in the bubble maker as well. :-)
