River Derwent

Interesting Blip today - I thought I'd keep the composition the same as yesterday's, (total coincidence).  We were parked up, paddle boards inflated and in the lake by 8.15am.

Paddling down the river Derwent was simply heavenly. Quiet, no-one about, a creche of 35 goslings, some damselflies (and us).

When we got back to Kettlewell car park,  it was heaving, with people arguing over parking places.

Glad we got out early, spent the rest of the day quietly getting on with jobs at home. Mid-afternoon we had a very welcome surprise visit from Emma & Sam, who had been wild camping on Bowfell last night and needed lunch.
