The Cottage Garden

I arrived at the cottage again today - it's so good to be back to the peace and quiet of the bay.   My sister had a lovely dinner planned and also asked our brother over to join us.    Good to spend time with both of them again.  

The cottage island really isn't suited for growing gardens - there is a lot of rock and not a lot of soil.   Mom and Dad decided years ago that they wanted a few gardens and brought the soil in and planted flowers.   The varieties of flowers have changed several times over the years, but these yellow day lilies have been here for many seasons now and hopefully for many more.
