Boredale from Hallin Fell

The weather forecast suggested drier weather in the east, so we headed over to Martindale. The guests set off up Hallin Fell, and with stops for photos, all managed the top cairn. (Extra)

On the way up we endured rain and high winds - really high - I was even blown onto my back at one point. No cameras were harmed in the ascent though. From the top, after a good dousing, the skies cleared for a while, offering spectacular views over Martindale, Boredale and Ullswater.

Wasn't long before the rain returned, more as a drizzle than rain, but the wind did do its best to blow it into our lenses.
