Rather special.

Perhaps not spectacular, but still a little treasure.

This is Ramonda myconii. Its common name is Pyrenean violet.
As its name implies it grows in the Pyrenean mountains in Spain. Wild flower
  enthusiasts are always pleased to find it and about ten years ago we had the
pleasure of doing that near the Circe de Gavarnie.
This one is a long way from home as it is in our garden in Arnside. It has survived about eight years growing in a rocky crevice facing north.

Two extras today. A spotted Saxifrage and in the Promenade gardens a splendid Peony.
