A rose between......

...... a few thousand blades of grass. I nearly stumbled over this low-growing Dog Rose beside the path when out walking this afternoon. The little beauty stood out against the background of thick grass and bore the promise of a lot more blooms still to open.

Later, after the suggestion by fellow Blipper Treshnish, I consulted my flower book again. This time I paid a bit more attention to detail and found that it is a Burnet Rose rather than a Dog Rose.
