Solo punt

Unfortunately I felt anxious and panicked about work during a meeting so went outdoors to get some fresh air. I saw this lone chap being punted underneath the Mathematical Bridge with an umbrella against the mizzling weather.

Someone said to me today, appearing to be on planet Earth at the time of saying it: ‘how have you been coping with the heat?’ Given it was 18 degrees at the time, my response was that they can ask me again when it’s 30 degrees for at least 3 months in a row, not when it’s hit 24 a couple of times.

In Histon in the evening I met Amy for some food at a place that is a fusion of two eateries; one being the Urban Shed, a café that used to occupy a gnarly space on one of Cambridge’s oldest streets. The owner is a character and remembered that Amy used to order halloumi sandwiches a few years back. He kept us entertained with random appearances at the table.

The cycle back from north of Cambridge to where I’m staying just south was long, drizzly but pleasant as it wasn’t too cold.
