Curzon Street Cemetery #2 (Wednesday 14 July 2021)

It was a very warm Woody Wednesday this morning, and quite a timely one as neighbours M&K came over to offer me their Skimmia japonica, pulled up during their garden renovations and with a root ball too large for their pots. A large part of the morning was spent working out where it could go and then Refna digging it in at a spot where it could be seen from the driveway.

In the Front Yard another campanula has flowered and was being enjoyed by the local insect life.

In the afternoon I returned to the cemetery's Memorial Garden, this time armed with reading matter and a telephoto lens. Initially there was no sign of any small birds, but a blackbird did show up by way of compensation. That isn't litter in the frame by the way, it's fallen rose petals.

Later on there were a few visits by a singing wren, but it proved impossible to photograph amongst the foliage this time. Most of the time it was singing it was completely out of sight, and sometimes quite a way away. I will try again.
