Pond babies

I was pleased to see a lot of young water birds at the Duntreath Ponds this morning. Mother duck was taking good care of the ducklings. The Canada geese goslings are miniatures of their parents. The first two extras are the swan family. To begin with I could only see the two adult swans feeding close to the edge of the pond. Then I was amazed to spot a cygnet feeding amongst the pondside vegetation right at my feet. Another arrived but it was hard to see them clearly. I stayed to watch them for ages but it was hard to get a clear shot. Eventually I spotted four cygnets. What a wonderful start to the day.
