Layers of history

A Neolithic passage grave with a mound built around it topped with a 12th century chapel, with a WW2 Nazi bunker added on underneath (now a moving memorial to ‘forced’ workers of the Channel Islands’ occupation) and a reconstructed Neolithic Long House alongside. Oh and a fascinating museum of ‘hoards’ and geology and more. Jersey Heritage at its awesome best.

Wonderful day with lovely visiting friends, and a celebratory family evening at a restaurant on the sea front.
