Baltic Tellin

For the umpteenth time the day started off grey and cool.  Later in the morning  we caught the edge of a torrential rainstorm which had been forecast.  Thankfully it eased off in the afternoon and there was the bonus of the sun putting in an occasional appearance.

I liked this colourful Baltic Tellin which was sitting on the high tide mark on the shore.  You may recall the shell colour of the tellin is polymorphic varying between individuals and between localities. Also that the concentric growth rings indicate the age of the shell.
