The Colour Purple

A day of easing back into life at home and the usual necessary chores.

We have a brief excursion to Llandudno, though no photography is involved - my heart’s just not in it. Instead I spend some time in the garden, dead heading and gathering flowers for the house. I notice we have a disproportionate number of purple blooms - hence today’s collage.

After Monday’s events, I find my local consultant wants to see me at tomorrow’s clinic. I spend some time writing out a list of questions and concerns in preparation. This helps to put things in some sort of order, and I feel less panicky, but I’m not sure I will be able to hold in my anger at the hospital’s administrative failures.

Interestingly, I look up the symbolism of purple and find it allegedly ‘both calms and stimulates our bodies, putting us in the right place for introspection and focused insight. It fosters creativity by awakening our senses while promoting the quiet necessary to make intuitive, insightful observations. Purple creates a harmonious balance of awareness and peace.’

Maybe there’s something in it. I’m more at peace tonight, and hope for better sleep.

Thank you again for all your lovely messages of support. They mean a lot.
