And so to the Isle of Skye.

Morning ferry MV Hebrides from Lochmaddy to Uig. On time. A pleasant experience - still subject to reduced numbers. It’s always interesting to watch CalMac crew direct the vehicles on the vehicle deck. We stayed mainly on top deck; our sons headed to the restaurant early on (extra photos). A bit dull, so the islands and approach to the Isle of Skye were almost monochrome. I’ve seen it in every weather, light and season. Love it.

Our sons wanted to walk part of the Quirang; our older one had done it earlier last month. Main photo is of them after their return. We dropped them off, and we headed North to Kilmaluag Bay - great views across to Torridon on the mainland.

South later to Sliagachan for the obligatory photos and a selfie (extra photo). On to Broadford and our accommodation. Ideal. I liked the spiral stair in the cottage (extra).

We went to Kyleakin and the Skye Bridge late evening. Aim was to capture the sunset but cloud let us down (extra photo). It’s a quieter place now  there are no ferries - many an hour I’ve sat there or in Kyle of Lochalsh on the mainland waiting to cross. Opened 1995, the ridiculous tolls were abolished in 2004 by the recently created Scottish Government.
