Painted Lady

Very heavy rain all morning was followed by a sunny but windy afternoon. For the last ten years I've been running a fixed point photography project on the local nature reserve taking photographs at nearly fifty points in January and August each year. As we are planning to move away I've had to find someone to take over from me. This afternoon I gave them a tour of the first twenty locations. The rest will have to be done next weekend. Of course I kept an eye out for passing dragonflies and butterflies including this very fresh looking Painted Lady.
