A Day In The Life

Finally, Relief

I’m happy to inform that a thunderstorm is currently passing through bringing both rain and temperature relief to our state! In August temperatures normally average 78 but rarely exceed 86. Thus the reason most Mainers have been complaining about the 95-105 heat index over the past few days. Thank You for letting me whine and complain :) • This short-horned grasshopper is also known as a Carolina locust. It’s an herbivore and is a heat-loving insect. However, like me, they have their limits too. When ground temperatures reach 110 and air temps near 90, they climb on to vegetation a few inches above the ground. They will even face the sun to keep their long bodies shaded. Insects are self-sufficient compared to humans. We require AC, brimmed hats, umbrellas and fans • Happy Saturday to all of you!
