Rhododendron “Christmas Cheer”

We routinely tune in the daily COVID-19 briefings on TV or Radio NZ. 21 new cases of the virus were reported today… all in Auckland. (Which will remain, meantime in Level Four Lockdown while the rest of the country moves to Level Two at 11.59pm tonight.) However, due to the very contagious nature of the virus, there are a number of rules with this Level… Mask wearing, restricted numbers at indoor venues and others. There is no way we want to move back to Level Four for now. So we must continue to be vigilant.
This pretty pink-toned rhododendron is growing in a tub in our garden. “Christmas Cheer”…. Such an odd name. I have an idea it may also be known as “Early Cheer” as it is the first to flower.
We had very heavy rain early this morning. So Maisie missed out on her routine walk/scamper.
