Back and Forth thru time

i started a joke

Evening all.

Still it snows.

I was forced to get onto the flat roof at the back of the house to knock the piles of snow off the heavily bowing sloping roof of the conservatory which was groaning and creaking like a rheumatic, arthritic, asthmatic octagenarian in the final throes of coitus.

Now the flat roof once full of thick, deep, luscious, virgin snow looks like it is the practice landing area for Father Christmas and his team of giddy Caribou.

I went for a quick walk this afternoon to have a slog around and take a few photos but it was soooo deep in some places it ceased to be fun and became a bit of an endurance trek. ( i'd actually gone to see if the little lambs i saw yesterday (but didn't blip) had survived the night. However, sensible farmers had moved them to somewhere with more shelter.

As the wind whipped the snow up into freezing clouds of tack sharp projectiles shelter seemed a sensible idea, and when i fell into a drift on a bridle path which came up to my knees and filled my wellies with the white stuff, i headed for home while i still felt able.

I stopped for a quick couple of photos before the enthusiasm totally drained away, and to see if i could get a wobble free monopod shot ( i can't). This horse just stood unmoving, standing in a field of courgettes.

Poor thing, looked frozen to the marrow!!! (boom boom, tish, here all week!!)

night all
