Experimenting

Over the past few weeks I've been experimenting with different techniques as part of the Langdyke AIR role. I've been making paper using old bank statements and natural materials found at Swaddywell nature reserves. This paper is coloured with iron-rich clay from a chalybeate spring and contains thistledown.

The leaf print of the Meadow Crane's-bill was made while experimenting with my newly acquired Gelliprint printing plate. I learnt a lot during my first short session, which also confirmed that I needed to but some fresh acrylic paints! I'm looking forward to having lots more fun over the autumn and winter.
