Life In Wales

Up, Up and Away!

It's our wedding anniversary on Saturday and we'd booked a trip to Bath for a few days so we dropped the dogs at the doggy hotel this morning and arrived in Bath at 3pm.  We stopped at the supermarket for provisions and then met the owner of the Airbnb at 4pm.  It's in a great location, only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Bath and we were able to park right the apartment which is handy, although we don't plan to use the car while we're here.

Once unpacked we set off for a walk into the centre and spotted about 4 hot air balloons flying overhead - such a lovely sight to see!  We walked down to the river and crossed over the other side and walked down to Pulteney Bridge, then to Bath Abbey and past the Roman Baths.  There was a lovely atmosphere and although there were lots of people around, it wasn't too crowded, so we stopped at a nice little wine bar and got a table outside which was perfect for people watching.  On checking the wine list, there was a bottle of Provence Rose from Chateau de Rouet that we visited many years ago, so we decided to have a bottle of that for old times' sake - it was as good as we remembered!

With regards to mum, she didn't end up going into respite as I got a call from her case manager on Monday to say that a care agency that apparently is very good, was starting up a new round in mum's area, so she'd reacted quickly and managed to get mum included, so they will be starting on Monday.  I checked the reviews and also the CQC rating and they do seem to be very good, so fingers crossed!
