Blue Berwick-upon-Tweed

In the past, for her return home, we have helped Mummy hazelh on to the train at Edinburgh Waverley to be met by passenger assistance at Newcastle Central, and then handed into the care of my not-so-little sister.

These days we no longer believe that it is safe to do this - we're worried that my mother would forget to get off the train at the right station - so today I was her travelling companion. I accompanied her to Newcastle, passed her over to my not-so-little sister in the short stay car park, then caught a train back to Edinburgh again.

It was a lovely day for a train ride (or two). Here's Berwick-upon-Tweed looking fabulous in the sunshine. I think I may also have captured Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island in this shot too.

The other excitement of the day was to bump into Mr hazelh's cousin Guy while out on our morning walk just after breakfast.

Exercise today: walking (15,091 steps).
