Torquay

This morning was sunny and warm, this afternoon a bit cloudy but still warm.  We drove to Torquay this morning. First stop was the row of coffee/food establishments overlooking the sea where we found a nice table on the terrace for coffee.  From there it was into Abbey Park for a packed lunch.  Our primary aim of going to Torquay was to see the Agatha Christie exhibition at Torre Abbey.  This mainly concentrated on her life with her archeological experiences with her husband Max Mallowan in Syria and Iraq.  Christie was not only a brilliant author but also a trained photographer and there were a lot of her photographs of the time on display.  There was also her Leica camera on show.

The theme for today's Wide Wednesday hosted by Steve is Geometric/Architectural.  The picture is of the pedestrian bridge over the main road that runs along the seafront at Torquay.  The extras are the camera used by Christie on her journeys and a pic of the Torquay train stopping at Torre Abbey.

Later we drove back to Dawlish to see Colin for a takeaway pizza tea, very nice
