Autumn colour

Finally made it put the house today, briefly, for a corona test, and enjoyed a quiet moment in the rather blustery garden afterwards. It's been exceptionally warm this month (as it has basically everywhere in the northern hemisphere - but that's climate change for you) and our Autumn colours are only just coming through, except for the yellow hostas and red cornus in the foreground.
The orange tree close to the back is an amelanchier and one of my favourite in the garden, the light comes through it on spring and autumn and sets it aflame.
The tall Scots pine at the back is also a favourite but it has been getting progressively browner since 2018, I fear the incredible breaking-all-records drought that year gave it a hammer blow from which it has not been able to recover. There are a few others in the neighbourhood with similar progressive brown patches so I suppose it could also be disease.

Anyway, managed to find a good crop of autumn raspberries and shared them with kids and the bunnies who love them it turns out. Then I finished another tonne of mending while resting and watching doctor who today. It wasn't quite how I'd plannned to spend half term holiday this year but it's not been a bad one overall (apart from being sick).
