Four Cows

We arrived in Bath yesterday evening to visit Son#2 and his partner, and today we all went out to the Mendip Hills, to Chew Valley Lake for a walk. Happily the weather stayed dry and we had a good time.

When passing a farm we liked these 4 cows all in a row, enjoying a tasty meal of hay.

Chew Valley Lake is the largest lake in south-west England, having been created in the 1950s as a water supply reservoir for Bristol. More than 260 species of birds have been recorded here over the years, and at the southern end of the lake (where the car park is) is a nature reserve where we spotted the egret in the extra getting annoyed by the gulls which kept flying around it!
