Bridge 26a - Macclesfield Canal

I went out geocaching with Paul and his fluorescent jacket today. Our aim was to find the geocaches in the Alien series that we had previously looked for but failed to find in East Cheshire and the Peak District. Fortunately we were successful with all five and we managed a handful of others as well. That means we have found all 383 (I think) of the Alien caches and just have a final bonus one to locate. There wasn't a huge amount of walking and it was mainly driving from place to place but we had a good day.

This is Clarence Mill bridge on the Macclesfield canal in Bollington with the mill itself in the background. There was cafe in the building and it was good to stop outside and relax with a coffee.

This evening there was further proof that there is never a dull moment following Chester. At half time we were beating a poor Gloucester City side 1-0 and it looked like we would go on to win by 2 or 3. However Chester were woeful in the second half and made Gloucester look like world beaters. By the 85th minute the visitors had hit the woodwork 3 times and lead 2-1. This seemed to wake Chester up and in the 87th minute they equalised and it looked like we would snatch an unlikely draw. Fair play to the players for pulling it around.

However that wasn't the end of the action and the referee signalled for 6 minutes injury time which seemed extremely generous. You can probably guess what happened next. In the 8th minute of injury time Chester scored again to make it 3-2 and snatch a victory they quite frankly didn't deserve.

It is inadvisable to leave Chester home matches early this season as in the 5 league games so far we have won 2 with goals in the 92nd and 98th minutes and drawn 1 with a goal in the 97th minute.
