Colloquially a potato bug more prosaically a Jerusalem cricket.

      Kathy pointed this out on the walk this evening . . . I'd vowed the next time I saw a Jerusalem cricket I would bring it home to get a snap. Joel Sartore I am not; it escaped before I got a decent shot. Kathy said I should have put it in a box . . . . I was faffing about by myself without help to corral the insect whilst Kathy finished her walk.
