Contemplation by Noonlight

Two old Ladies are contemplating the origin of some Scottish phrases.

Dorothy: "See they Lothian hills Doris."
Doris: "Aye."
Dorothy: "See yon white stuff on top?"
Doris: Aye Dot."
Dorothy: "D'ye think it's snaw?"
Doris: "Mebbe Dot, or mebbe they're jest auld an' turnin' grey as oorsels."
Dorothy: "Aye Doris." "It's gie cauld the noo - Fancy a quick'n fer the road?"

Wee Dot and Doris then hobble off to the nearest hostelry.
