The river runs through it.

The River Wear that is, which was looking fine this (cold) morning as we went for a walk around Durham  before breakfast.

We then were lucky enough to have an inspiring and fascinating visit to the Miners' Hall which included seeing the Pitmen's Parliament. 

The building is about to undergo restoration and renewal in order to deepen and broaden the lessons to be learned from the remarkable history of the Durham miners, lessons that are of great relevance in these troubled times.
