An ordinary life....

Weather warning....

Storm Arwen is on her way!

Really windy during the night, this morning and into the afternoon.  The rain arrived around 4pm and it's been a bit wild, but no where near as wild as other places, especially the east coast.  David was supposed to see his dentist in St Andrews but cancelled that.  He was also supposed to play golf with Keith at Leven but abandoned that too.  Keith went but had to abandon the round on the 12th when the driving rain came on and after nearly getting blown off his feet!  Nutter for even attempting to play!

I spent the afternoon packing and completing the Tesco order that is being delivered to the holiday house on Sunday morning.  I also phoned the lady who owns the lodge to get the key access code and we chatted for a while. She seems absolutely lovely (living up to all the reviews I've read about her) and informed me that the lodge was being cleaned today so we could get early access tomorrow if we wished.  As we have lunch booked at 2pm and Adrian didn't finish work till 8pm this evening (so will not want to be rushing in the morning) I thanked her but said it would probably be around 5pm by the time we got there.

Had hoped to take my camera into the garden to photograph the winter jasmine but as it was packed, and the wind was howling, I settled for a camera shot of the orchid we've had for two years and it's now in its 4th bloom.  It's a miracle.  Ten flowerheads this time.  It obviously likes its spot in the garden room and the handful of ice cubes David chucks in the pot every Thursday.  A cheery little blast of colour in an otherwise dull day.
