Men at work repairing the Southwestern Railway track. We took the long way round so I could avoid the rather precipitous stairs.
We stopped at the Strand Cafe at the end of Kew Bridge for a coffee. It’s a traditional place and the welcome is always warm. 
I finally finished my Christina Stead novel and am starting ‘The Mirror and the Palatte’ by Jennifer Higgie, a new history of women artists. This was a birthday gift from D.
