Life's Little Moments

Side Eye

Jax has a very serious looking face and he often looks at us in a way where the whites of his eyes show. We laughingly call it the side-eye. This is only a partial side-eye but I think you’ll get the idea. It’s rather endearing … or maybe we are just deep into a severe case of puppy-love.

I had a FT call scheduled with mom and dad this morning so we put Jax in his crate so that I would not have to be constantly stepping away to see what he was up to (or into). Of course, he barked almost the entire time but I just went upstairs to my office and shut the door. Which allowed for a very nice video chat with parents.

He’s been very rambunctious today, having decimated 2 plush toys. I put him on his 6 ft lead and held a long branch up in the air for him to chase. I spun around in circles while he ran full out trying to grab the branch. He was panting and I was stumbling around like a drunken sailor, but at least he got several good runs in today. I wish we could take him off leash but he isn’t good enough coming when called, not to mention the normal puppy attention deficit. And we have acres of woods behind the house for him to get lost in.

Didn’t hear from my oncologist today re the test results so plan to call in the morning.

No chocolate yet today but thinking maybe dark with almonds and cherries…
