Quod oculus meus videt

Meg

I joined L at the stables today.  It was good to have a break from the constant pressure at work and I always like seeing Meg.  Unfortunately, L doesn't get to take her on long rides anymore.  She was lame for much of the autumn so only gentle hacking around the local tracks is advised.  At 30 years old you have to be intone with her needs, so while gentle exercise is OK, anything more energetic would probably be counter productive.

Still we got all of the jobs done, mucking out the stables, recharging hay nets and poo-picking the field.  I also helped one of the owners catch a horse who was not playing ball.  Apparently the technique is to keep it from stopping or walking until it decides it doesn't want to canter or gallop around the field anymore.  A suitable bribe of a carrot and the halter was on.

Afterwards it was a sandwich at the local cafe on Cannock Chase, followed by a short walk and an extra photo of yet another bare tree.
