January fantasy

Before dawn this morning I realized there was something special going on at the far end of our lake...we hadn't seen crystals like this in years, and I decided it was worth the trek down our snowy stairs with my camera.
I saw the most beautiful scenes as I waited for the sun to rise.  After 80 photos, I figured it wasn't going to get any prettier than it was, so I took my trusty hiking pole and headed back to the warmth of our home.

Even though it was a frigid 1 degree F, it was a beautiful way to start the day!!
