Garden statuary

Alas my garden does not run to such grandeur - this ornate and unusual 17th century sundial is in the extensive walled garden of Ellon Castle. The garden, which is gradually being restoredwas formed in 1715 and contains a huge collection of magnificent yews.

We had visited to see the snowdrops - the urn in the extra is a nod to Ellon Castle Snowdrop Day.
