Remembering Ukraine

We went walking at Long Branch Farm and trails this afternoon, and I was hoping to get some photos of the herons, as I had read that they have started to come back to nest. However, we found the trail in one place was under a couple of inches of water, so we decided to leave that for another’s day and try another trail! It was a sunny afternoon with beautiful clouds, and I loved the contrast here of the sunlit golden grasses against the blue sky, and the colours reminded me of the desperate situation in Ukraine, each day there seems some new atrocity after another. We can go out in peace and quiet, and enjoy nature, bird song and early signs of Spring, while the country that they love is being torn apart. It makes me feel so helpless, yet what can we do besides donate and pray?
At least we had church choir practice this evening to help take our minds off it for a few hours and enjoy singing with others and lifting our voices to God.
