Ancient Oak Pollard

It was a lovely Spring-like morning, bright sunshine, light wind and quite warm.  I decided to cross the border into Essex and have a walk around Hadstock.

This ancient pollarded oak tree is part of a group of four that must mark an old hedge or field boundary (extra). Beyond the tree some of the houses in Hadstock are visible.

These trees are clearly visible on the map in satellite view.
