Fundraising

Our small local golf club is very much a community thing. Great, but we're always looking for extra funds and one of our biggest events is the annual Duck Race down the burn that runs through the course. Surprisingly, there's not a huge amount of water in it just now but we all managed to have a great time, raised a reasonable sum, prizes were awarded for winning ducks, decorated Easter eggs and Easter bonnets, and food was scoffed. It was unfortunate that the weather turned back to cold and gloomy but at least the rain had the courtesy to hold off until later.

4+ hours standing for me dishing out coffee and the like = horizontal hours this pm. And a little nugget to share: don't lie on your tummy whilst eating a bacon toastie; I stood up half way through and felt like I'd eaten a football that was just lodged in my oesophagus. Or a snake that had eaten a rhinoceros. Anyway, just don't eat lying on your front!

Vote for LH, the man who walked Berry, did the ironing, helped me change the bed, cooked the tea.

Now Sunday roast time, Antiques Roadshow on the box after a fascinating programme involving a portrait artist and their subject. A nice relaxing bath is on the horizon too ...
