My topsy-turvy life

As a training run for Giant's Head marathon next month(?!) for my birthday Louisa bought me entry into Revenge of the Fifith. It was only the one lap half marathon distance but still over 2000ft of climb over the Shropshire hills from Carding Mill Valley.

She was right, I did love it and there were some spectacular views along the route, but boy was it tough and I had both calves cramping from around 10 miles and my pace was, unsurprisingly, all over the place. But I did it and by the time I crossed the finish I was desperate to cool my aching feet in the stream.
I do love Denzil's How Hard Can It Be races but he has me 2 for 2 on my slowest times now. Definitely good preparation for the big one though.

I have the utmost respect for everyone doing the marathon distance and the people doing it in addition to May the Fourth yesterday must be crazy.
