There are some delightful ‘payable’ gardens around. I get just as much pleasure walking in Grade 2 Listed Bournemouth Gardens (Lower, Central and Upper), 1 ½ miles long. The gardeners are amazing.

Equally Boscombe Chine Gardens (blipped - again) are a treasure, and probably missed by visitors. We often walk through on our way to Boscombe for Mr B’s Polish rye bread. Today we walked to and from our home, perfect weather, sunny with a cool breeze. The tall tree lined roads provide a welcome shelter when the sun’s too hot (for me).

Made an Ottolenghi recipe “ Smashed carrots with coriander-pistachio pesto and pickled onions”. Took ages, it always does when I make something the first time. Loved it. Accompanied by a baked potato and English asparagus.
