A time for everything

A beautiful day for a bike ride

We enjoyed a great cycle ride today on the Little Miami trail, heading north from Corwin. The sun was shining, the sky was blue with fluffy white clouds, wildflowers lined the path and the birds were singing - what more could you want? We also passed Spring Valley wildlife area, where a couple of kayakers were out enjoying nature too. The wildflowers shown in my collage are Dame’s Rocket, Miami Mist and Butterweed. As the afternoon wore on, the clouds moved in, and by the time we left home at about 6.45, to drive downtown for a Cincinnati Symphony concert, the clouds were dark and ugly, and we were afraid we were going to get soaked just crossing the road from the underground parking to Music Hall. However, despite the threatening skies, we made it in the dry. By the time we came out, it had obviously rained, but it didn’t look as if it had been too heavy - I think most of it must have passed to the north of us. The concert was the last of the season, and started with them recognizing four musicians who were retiring, with a combined number of service years of 164 years! The first half of the concert was a modern piece which I actually enjoyed, then the longer second half was Bruckner Symphony No 7, his final symphony, which was wonderful. When we got home, we watched the FA cup match on ESPN, or at least I watched until full time, and then I went to bed, and let Roger tell me the score later!
