Cherries

The next wave of seasonal fruit starts.

Strawberries are nearly finished with, raspberries, cherries and redcurrants are all coming into their time to shine.

I've been hearing disturbing reports that farmers here are ploughing up their strawberry fields - it's not worth the effort.  People would rather pay less for a product of inferior quality, than for strawberries that taste of strawberries rather than polytunnel.

The same thing happened to tomatoes.  Commercially grown tomatoes taste of nothing but they look red and are full of water and no tomato taste.
