More unexpected developments

Cristina fell while walking the dog this morning, bruising her leg and dislocating a toe very painfully. She drove herself to urgent care but had to miss the matinee performance because "urgent care" took several hours. She chose to have her toe pulled back into place without anesthetic, and then she went on to work the evening show, pausing to wrap black sequined material around the medical "boot" she has to wear for a while. She's amazing, really. The children come naturally by their panache and creativity.

As a result of their mom's fall, the children came to me for the evening, not for the whole day; and Bella spent most of five hours making "slime" in three colors. She loves to play with textures, making some of it "fluffy," and some of it more like "clay." She added glitter to some of it, included plastic "charms" of the same colors as the slime, and left some of it wet and slimy. Tomorrow they'll arrive at 11, but their dad is flying home after a month on the road and should pick them up between 5 and 6. Then on Monday they're off to see their other grandparents in Arizona.
