Helen's current quilt
my blip from 3/15/2013 was just added: Mr. Cardinal
Helen Lucas of Lucas Boatworks, is an award winning quilter and right across the river from me. Geeze, between knowing both Helen and my friend Frieda who is also an award winning quilter . . . well, I imagine I might learn how to quilt one day! What do you think? : ))
A few days ago I went to visit Helen and her sister Norma who was there at the time. Helen showed me this lap quilt she is creating out of kaffee fassett material. I have some of his fabric which I have used for Artist Trading cards and other small pieces. Helen is making this quilt for a dementia patient if I remember correctly, who is also losing their eyesight. That is why she used the brighter pinks and blue fabrics. Helen hung it up on her quilting board so she could show me the background fabrics as well - so vibrant! Helen is very active in her local guild, the Friendship Knots Quilters Guild. I am glad to get to know her better!
