Protected village scene

Always nice to take a look at the old core of Elsloo and take a few pictures.
The protected area consists of the old village center of Elsloo and the adjoining castle garden and lands belonging to Elsloo Castle.
The history of the settlement of Elsloo goes back to the early Middle Ages.
Several national monuments are located along the historic streets with ribbon development. The non-monumental buildings in the protected area also support the historic character of the townscape due to its simplicity of mass, traditional roof shapes, facade layout, and use of materials. After stripping, a number of buildings could contribute more to the historic image. On the street, Op de Berg is a very picturesque group of 18th-century houses. The 17th-century Schippershuis, built in the style of the Maasland Renaissance, has a side facade with strips of brick and Limburg marl.
