Trek

Rather grey day, which became muggy as it went on  but only occasional brighter parts. Most of the day was taken up with ironing, but of shopping and clearing up, so pretty low key. A went out to meet her wee pal for lunch at Portobello then came back and did the cleaning. Her nose isn’t so sore today but she’s still sneezing a lot and it feels uncomfortable. Worth it if it stops the nose bleeds.
Later in the afternoon I went to meet EC and her daughter A who’s coming here to do a Master’s in September. I haven’t seen A since she was about 3, and so we had a lot to catch up on! They wanted a bit of a look around the University areas so I did the full tour (it's becoming a habit!), including over to Marchmont where she has a flat sorted. We stopped for coffee and for ice cream but just chatted non stop the whole way…and since we’d first met through our mutual friend K we talked about her a fair bit too. Still no news on K’s new grandchild…despite them being in hospital in labour since Friday evening!
Dropped them back at their hotel and got home to rest up (after 16,000 steps!) and make us a stir fry supper….
