Madelvic House

I have photographed this building a few times before but other subjects took the blip. However, we were close by today and the lighting was good, so here it is.

This is the frontage of the offices of the Madelvic Motor Carriage Company. As the nearby plaque, issued by the National Transport Trust, informs us, this was the oldest purpose-built car factory in the UK, opened in 1898, the company built electric vehicles.

While the building is under conversion to residential flats, to the rear is the Granton Community Garden, as murals on an adjoining building indicate - see extra.
