Katharine's Walk

I never knew this lady, but she died in a tractor accident late last year.  I understand that she was driving up one of the two steep hills that climb out of this village when it went over.  It was a tragic accident to a well-liked person.

And the start of Common Lane has been named after her, using the lovely Ham stone that comes from a hill not far from the village.  In the Extra is an airborne shot of part of Common Lane, facing North towards Burt's Hill (or Dancing Hill).  I often think of how this and other tracks were the only lines of communication between villages and hamlets not long ago.
